
Mr. Ben Miller worked for 10 years as a trainer, facilitator, project designer and manager, and Corporate Social Responsibility and community relations specialist in the non-profit sector before joining Bbusinesss full-time as a trainer. He has extensive experience in Human Resources management, budget processes, organizational strategy, and planning. Throughout his career, he has worked closely with individuals and groups from a wide range of cultural, religious, and national backgrounds, and with both international and local organizations of widely varying size and complexity.
Mr. Miller’s professional clients and partners have included Dubai Customs, Qatar Petroleum, Abu Dhabi Security Exchange, CDA Collaborative Learning Projects, and a wide range of non-governmental and community-based organizations, primarily in Africa and the United States.
A believer in skills and capacity development, Mr. Miller carries the conviction that training is a highly effective tool in advancing the abilities of individuals, groups, and corporations to meet their own goals and objectives.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Miller has designed and delivered a range of trainings and facilitated workshops in areas such as cross-cultural facilitation and dialogue, Public Speaking, Communication Skills, Conflict Management, Leadership Development, Personnel Management, Team-Building, and Project Management and Design. He has been responsible for recruitment, induction, and on-boarding of new staff in a range of corporate positions, and has designed and managed best-practice dissemination workshops for geographically dispersed organizations. He is also trained as a Trainer-of-Trainers in the use of the Do No Harm conflict sensitivity tool.
Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor’s Degree Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University and a Master’s Degree from the University of Chicago, both in social sciences. He has worked professionally in North America, 6 different African Countries, and 2 Middle Eastern Countries. As an American national, he is a native speaker of English, is fluent in French and Swahili, and is conversant in Spanish. Over the course of his academic and professional career, he has reported to, supervised, and worked as a colleague to individuals of a very wide range of nationalities, social, and religious backgrounds. Mr. has also travelled extensively in over 30 countries on 5 continents. He brings to his practice a profound appreciation of cultural differences, managing people, and organizational behavior.
